Loss Piggie is sick and i've already lost one

I had 2 babies. unfortunately, on passed away yesterday while i was at work. My cousin found him... I could tell he was sick by the way he was. he was moving around less, not making any noise like usual, and then he stopped eating. he had crusty eyes and such... But my other one is now acting the sae. i'm afraid it might be the same thing and it would break y heart to lose him as well. please let me know if i can do anything. I can't get him scheduled for the vet for another week and i dont know if he can make it that long...

i tried giving him some of his favorite treats to no avail... i've heard hes just depressed and trying to cope but i dont think thats it. i think being in close contact with my other pig got him sick as well...

I would take him to the vet

He needs to go to the vet. Now, not next week. Guinea pigs can go from first symptom of illness to dead in less than 24 hours, and you've already lost one pig.

If he is not eating, you MUST force feed him. A guinea pig that's not eating is a guinea pig that's dying. You can feed Critical Care or a pellet slurry, 100+ cc's for every 1000 grams the pigs weighs, every day, split into 6-8 feedings around the clock. It's nowhere near enough food. And he needs to be eating hay, or something made with hay, such as Critical Care or a pellet slurry.

i made a pellet slurry and have been feeding him every 1.5 hours or so. he takes it, just takes him some time

That’s good that he’s eating, but he probably needs antibiotics. Try to get to a vet right away.

Thanks everyone for your advice. i thought it would work but it kills me to say that my other baby has passed on... At least they can be buried together and stay together... RIP my baby Hammie and Piglet... I had them set for an appt at a vet that was far for tomorrow too....

I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm sure Hammie and Piglet are together now at the Rainbow Bridge, playing in the warm sun and eating as much veggies and grass as they want.
