Hey there! I am planning on making a garden for my piggies including vegetables, fruits and flowers(such as marigold). I also wanted to make a run for them to lounge around in on warm summer days. Does anyone have any suggestions on which plants are easy to grow and pig-friendly, and what materials I should use on my run? I am thinking about using some sort of fence and about a foot above the top of the run, draping a tarp across the top of four posts so it protects my pigs from predators as well as heatstroke. Thank you! lol

Great idea! I wouldn't grow merigolds in the pen (or really any other flower, as most of them are poisonous), but I've found that most lettuces are really easier to grow, and as long as iceberg isn't used, the piggers can eat as much of it as they please. Put pics up when you finish!

Lemongrass is good for hiding behind, as long as it gets time to grow enough to combat the nibbles. Any decent sized pot from a nursery should be fine. Celery is good too, 3 or 4 plants to hide under and eat. Strawberries too. Alpine strawberries are bigger plants with smaller berries, better for running in and under. If it's a permanant space, grapevines are good for shade and the pigs love the leaves. Same with apple trees.
