piggie coughing

i love my piggies! one of them coughs more than once, every day. it sounds like he's choking! i got him recently and didn't realize that the bedding that his previous owner was the Carefresh stuff. Could the coughing be the result of that kind of bedding? I stopped using it and i'm using this natural pine bedding, but he still coughs. I asked about this before, but someone said that it was ok, as long as it didn't sound like there was any fluid. it doesn't sound like it, but I got a new piggie and he doesn't ever cough the way Tootsie does.

What kinds of diet did you feed to them? News from other wedsite said that MAZURI obtain the ingredients of "ground corn", and paggie inappropriate to eat. My paggie have same situtation before, after I heard the news and I tried to take away those "ground corn", seems the aforesaid problem haven't occur again!

wait a second....you stopped using carefresh and switched to pine? that could be your problem right there....pine is the worst thing!!!! carefresh is the best! go back to carefresh if you can afford it or use aspen or kildried pine!

A tip for ALL pig owners, never, ever use non-kiln-dried pine or cedar as bedding. It can cause serious respiraory problems. Aspen is a cheap alternative. I can get a 50 liter bag of aspen for five dollars here. I use an inch or two of aspen bedding coated with some carefresh, it helps preserve the carefresh easier. And is it a sneeze, or a cough?

Occasional coughing is fine. Mine cough 2-4 times a day. Yes, do switch back to careFresh

I have pine, but there isn't any smell or grease or anything like that on it. It's the kind you get at a farm store.
