I recently got a piggie from a pet store and am having a really hard time bonding with him . I think he so scared of people because he was mis-treated in the store :(.I was wondering if you guys had any good tips on bonding .

thanks,
Scarlett

My advice would just be to not rush things, and give your pig time to get to know you. It's not an easy process. My pig, Oscar, I've had for about a year now, and he is still ancy, and nervous around me.

Sit by his cage and talk to him. Give him a little treat from your hand if possible. Give him lap time each day. Whenever you do something for his cage like veggie time, make it a big deal, let him hear the veggie bags russle, and when you give it to him, make a big announcement. Anytime you interact with your piggy make it exciting. This way they get to know your voice and that you represent something good. Whey you give him hay, announce it "Time for some hay" and russle the bag and give him hay. Your piggy will soon associate the different sounds for these good things and will start to get excited. This has worked for me.

Thanks everyone!!

Does he have a buddy?

Yes he does .

Good, just give it time. My three girls are finally getting better. The foster pigs are still so afraid we can barely walk into the room before they start scrambling for their hidey holes.
