That's what I use. As long as it's not cedar, it's okay to use. Although it can stick to the edges of your cage almost sawdust-like. My guinea pig is fine and healthy and I use Pets Pick. :)

It's debated in the guinea pig community is pine is healthy or not. You're better off with fleece :]

Pine should be kiln dried to be considered safe

I think you would be better off with fleece. I think fleece is easier to clean and when I had wood chips it made the whole hose smell like it and made my allergies act up.

I agree with everyone else. Fleece is the best way to go. The Pets Pick is kiln dried as well. Forgot to mention. :)

I personally dont agree with fleece ^^'' just in my opinion of course! I know it makes it look pretty, nice and easy to clean, saves money because you only need to wash it, but the odor..x.x.. just in my opinion, i prefer Bedding ^^''

I personally agree with you, I find fleece more difficult to maintain, it is definitely not for everyone. There's nothing wrong with using wood chips or paper bedding. Sometimes I feel like with how much many people here push fleece that it could make some feel bad for using traditional bedding, but it is really to each their own- their are pros and cons of each. Your piggy is happy with either as long as it is clean :)

:D thank you, ive seen some people "flaming, bashing " out on me (Not on here of course ^^'' I just started here, and loving it!) because i wasnt using " proper cavy material". I definatly agree with it being harder to maintain, the fleece im refering to, i use bedding because some days im so busy i dont have time to do a quicky cleaning, i have enough time to have lap time, and some outside time, but wew~ thanks for the reply o:

Pine needs to be baked at extreme temperatures (Kiln dried) to remove the phenols from the wood, un-treated pine is un-safe and poses as a health risk. I'm not a big fan of wood beddings, I've always preferred fleece.

My guinea pigs eat pelleted litter.

Ah gotcha! My pigs tried to eat it the first time I used it but realized it wasn't food lol!

I got my guinea pig for free on bookoo. He lived in a storage bin:eek:hmy: and came with a barely used bag of Pet's Pick, half a bag of colorful pellets with seeds, a bowl of food, a water bottle, and no toys. I am using the pine bedding till I can sew up some fleece flippers. Buffy is thriving, so I'd say it is safe.
