Why don't you look for a guinea pig rescue or shelters?

Are you planning on keeping them separate? You can't put them together unless he is neutered and he is probably lonely, so he needs a same sex friend.

Pet stores make a lot of mistakes. https://www.cavyspirit.com/petstores.htm

Ditto what rabbitsncavyluv said. Don't buy from pet stores at all...don't even buy your supplies from pet stores unless they sell no animals at all.
And please use proper spelling and grammar. It was difficult to read your post.

i always buy my supplies from petsmart and its too expensive so i tried buying them in bulk to save money i found this pet store right down the street from me so thanks for the info

You found another pet store to buy your supplies from? Or to buy a guinea pig from?

Petco and Petsmart are expensive. Feed stores are cheaper.

My friend told me about the pet store it sells animals as well as supplies and also I am not really sure how old my cavy is. Is there anyway to find out.

How much does your pig weigh?

I got my first piggie from petco. It wasnt that expensive. My 2 new pigs i got from a small pet store in my neighboorhood. What is wrong with petstores???

GP2- If you simply read the link I supplied maybe you would find out.

By buying ANYTHING from a pet store that sells animals, you are telling them is it a-ok to be buying guinea pigs from mass mills, where the females are bred until they can breed no more, then killed inhumanly. Where they live in small cages (like yours, but with triple the amount of pigs) and they are fed food with mixed nuts and seeds, no hay, and wire flooring.

By buying anything from the pet stores, you support this and you are part of the problem. People like us that don't do it are part of the solution.

#1 there isnt a animal shelter in my county #2 I proved them wrong :p pet store cavies can be just as healthy as other cavies.

Also see https://cavyspirit.com/breeding.htm

You pay for supplies or animals in a pet store, and they use that money to buy more animals from the breeders. Can you see how closely they are linked?

Some pet store cavies are healthy. You just got one of the lucky ones who weren't ill or pregnant.

GP2- you are one of the most ignorant kids I have ever seen on this forum. I feel bad for your pigs, I really do.

If I were one of the mods here I would have already demoted you.

... What did I do? I got 2 month old cavies from a petstore. I got them before i ever went to this site.

I bet half the people on this site got piggies from petstores

THAT dosn't matter. What matters is now, unlike you, we know the truth and choose not to support the abuse.

That's fair enough - a lot of us bought from pet stores before coming to this site..But you've been on here for at least one month, you should have learnt a lot from everything that is discussed here.

GP2, have you forgotten about the thread in The Kitchen? You arent going to win this argument. This is an adoption friendly forum. There is a difference in puchasing a guinea pig before learning about adoption and purposefully buying after reading about the horrid lives breeders give their pigs and pet store neglect!

If you continue to support breeders, then you are just as good as a breeder. Get your head out of your a** and think a little bit for once.

I Do Not Support It. I Wanted A Guinea Pig. I Bought A Guinea Pig. End Of Story.
