I've heard that if a pet store has a pig that isn't in very good health or something like that, and you want to get it, you should persuade them to give it to you, 'cause or else if you buy it they'll just think "Ha! We sold another one!"

So, what are some good persuasion points??

Oh, yeah, and it's not like i'm going to a pet store or anything (true, i went into petco yesterday with my mom to get cat food, but that's IT!), because i'm gonna go to OCCH (SOMEtime or other!). just wanted to make sure people knew that. :)

You could tell them that unless they give it to you you will report them.

Tell them that the pigg is sick. And that it will make all their other piggs.Which will result in unhappy customers.

Sick pigs are harder to sell. Tell them it might die anyway.

I was gonna say thw same thing. And if you saw a sick pig at a petco (remember I work there...) then you need to tell the general manager. If you go back the next day and it's still there then you can call the petco hotline...I don't know the number off hand but I can get it for you if you saw one there. The rule is if someone (employee or costomer) sees a sick animal then they have to stop what they are doing to check on it. If it is sick in some way then they need to pull it out and put it in the wellness room and call the vet right away to get advice on what to do until it's seen and make an appointment. If none of that is done then there is something wrong with the managment and that needs to be reported. And I'll go past that and say that if the animal has someting that is gonna cost more than it's 'worth' (money wise) then they will adopt it out. That's how I got my two hamsters. One has eczema and the other has lost an eye. So you might want to bring that up...but they should offer it to you anyway if they have one in the back. We never have an animal back there up for adoption for more than a day because we are always telling people about them. We have even had people dump off their animals because they were losers and they left it in a box before we even opened. It was sickining. A pig. We found him a home that same day with a lady that wanted to find her pig a buddy. Anyway...long story short...if they had any for adoption then they should tell you right off the bat (or you can ask! lol) And they should NEVER have sick animals on the sales floor. Lemme know if you need that number.

Thank you for all your suggestions... I actually saw four piggs at Petco but they seemed okay...

I just wanted to know for future referece, y'know... (I've heard that this place called Steve's Pets in Pasadena has pigs in poor health... not like i THINKING about that store in particular) just in case i ever have the need of... y'know, Persuading Petstores!
