Is it possible to give you guinea pig too much veggies. About how much should you a guinea pig? I dont want to give it too much and give it diarrea, but then I dont want to give it too little and take away it vitamins.

I think it's more the fruit part you have to worry about. Mine graze on veggies all the day long with no issue. I think it also has to do with what the individual piggy is used to digesting.

Hope I helped!

About 1-2 cup of vege daily. I feed them quarter portion of apple in the morning, & vege in the evening.

Look at my site and see the amount of my pigs get at suppertime. Theyy also have veggie treats during the day when they are in my office cage. My exotic animal vet has seen the pictures of my pigs at suppertime and saids thats fine. They have a checkup every 2 months and they are very healthy. And my pigs don't have any diarrea. I pic up their poops constantly with a pair of tweezers when ever I see them. And I am with my pigs 24/7. Good luck! Also, you should find and print out the list of veggies and fruits and the Vit-c contents. That way you can give them assorted veggies.

I never understand what a 'cup' is. Is it some sort of american measurement, or does it literally mean a cup!

A cup is an american measurement.

if you think he gets too less vitamins : put some vitamin drops is his water (a gp can never have too much vitamins ) and you ca, give him as much veggies as he can eat , but make sure it isn't all the same sort of veggies and some sorts will give them diarrea like some sorts of green salads
i would reccomend the following :
-green peppers and red peppers
-carrots
-grass
-leaves of a corn plant
-little parts of old bread occasionally ( one time in the week ) to train their chewing muscles
-white loaf ( dont knwo how its called in english)
this is what we give our GP's and they dont have diarrea and they are very healthy

It literally is a cup. Yes a cup is an american measurement, but the measure of a cup is about the size of a normal Coffee cup.

1 cup is about 8 ounces, think about a decent sized tea cup maybe? 227 grams if I did my calculations right. I would go more by the pig than by the measuring cup.

I started out giving my girls a measured amount, they whip through it. Now, I just mix up a big heap of fresh veggies and replace it as they eat it. They don't have any problems with loose stools.

I do go easy on the fruit since they are higher in sugar and go heavier on the romaine lettuce and bell pepper.

If you are giving plenty of veggies and fruits, you don't have to give a vitamin supplement.

'course that won't help you too much because US and UK ounces differ in size. Although for these purposes the difference is probably unimportant. Not sure how you measure things.... Somewhere around 1/4 litre or around the size of a 1/2 pint glass from a pub.

The more the better I say.
