I live in the city and don't have any grass in our small back yard. However I think it would be nice to bring my pigs outside to enjoy some good wether together. I don't trust going to a park because of other animals ,and I'm not sure about whats on the grass . So I had the idea of getting a hard plastic kiddie swimming pool filling it with potting soil and growing some grass ( I would also have a pen inside the pool so they won't fall off the edge of the pool and I will always be present if they are outside). Has anyone ever done this before? Or if anyone has any thoughts on what type of grass to plant? Or anyone who has any thoughts on this idea I would love to hear them. Thanks a bunch.

Hi,

I built a raise piggie patch and I am growing wheat grass, marigolds, parsley, cilantro, dill, and Bibb lettuce.

I would suggest using organic soil.

I am always present when they are outside. I also have a fleece covering a corner if they want to hide.

That's a great area you made for them. I love the idea of incorporating some herbs and marigolds! Do you have wood chips In-between the plants? Also did you get the wheat grass from a home and garden store?

I used aspen shavings from the pet store and bought wheat grass seeds from a garden store.
