Per the instructions on the bag of Cavy Cuisine, I am feeding our two pigs 1/2 a cup of pellets each day. I do this in the morning before I leave for work and the cups are nearly empty when I go to sleep. By the next day the cups are scraped clean. Is this ok? The hayrack is filled with hay, but they're not to keen on it right now since it's first cut Timothy hay. They have alfalfa cubes too.

That's ok -they shouldn't get unlimited pellets so stick to what you're doing now. They really need hay, isn't their any way of getting some more?

I knew some people that had the same problem. They took out pellets completely for about a week, and just made sure they had plenty of Timothy hay, and veggies. When they put the pellets back in, the pigs ate a few now and then, but they were off the "obsessive" stage. Good luck!

My 6 piggies have unlimited pellets but eat about 1/8-1/4 cup total each day of them now. When I first had them they ate a lot more pellets but as they have gotten the unlimited hay and fruits/veggies twice a day they just seem to snack on the pellets now.

Mine get 1/2 cup each and they suck them down. Nothing to worry about.

Isn't 1/2 a cup each a lot? On the oxbow bag they reccomend 1/8 of a cup. I give my four guys 1/2 a cup total.

Yes, a 1/2 cup is too much. The recommendation is 1/8 - 1/4 cup each pig. Pigs should be getting Cavy Performance until they are 1 year old. Cavy Cuisine after one year. Check out the feeding guidelinnes on the Oxbow website.
