Also. I can tell he's obviously a crested guinea pig, but what else would he be if he has such long butt hair? Peruvian maybe?

He's a Coronet. (He has a crown.) They're long haired Cresteds..... I think he's really beautiful and you're lucky to have found him! Why don't you name him something royal, like Midas, Zeus, Apollo, Prince, Duke, something starting with "Sir" Like Sir Lancelot or even something like King George?

Last night the bf and I were just kinda hanging out with him in the living room for a bit while he explored the floor. It's a little weird, and proves even more that I'm a little geeky, but I noticed he would walk around the edges of the room [normal, I know] but then stop in the doorway to the dining room if that's where Ed[my bf] was. When Ed would start to walk into the living room, this g-unit would almost full charge at his feet. Well earlier we made a joke about his crest/ crown looked more like a dufus helmet. That, plus him standing his ground by the entrances, made me think of my Dragon Age tactics of scoping the outer map and just chilling until the Darkspawn came to any entrances.
So. I think he might get the name Warden.
He's been through tough battles fighting off Darkspawn [ie: his last 2 owners] and he's pulled through pretty decent, I'd say.

And ItsAmandaYall that's a terribly sad story. I'd wish the lady that left him would text or call me just so I could talk to her. The woman that runs the rescue I know suggested just texting her that I was going to report her to the humane society, but I don't know if I should. I have him now and for that, I'm grateful. And I hope he is too.

My Gizmo is a long haired crested. She looks like she has an afro poof when you fluff up the hair between her ears. Looks a lot like your new guy.
That's terrible what the past owner did! Best of luck with your piggy herd. So glad you found him when you did! Be proud of that.

Update!
I've had Warden a little over a week now and he seems to be doing great! A few days ago he made his first wheeks. He is in a smaller cage in our living room [on a completely different floor than my other pigs] and constantly teeth chatters. Does anybody know what would make him to that?
I got him all cleaned up and brush him every day. He doesn't like it much but it seems to need to be done.

Aww, he's beautiful!

My Elliot is a chatterbox. Hold food in front of her, she chatters. Walk into the room, she chatters. She's done that since she was a baby and it seems to just be her personality to chatter any anything that moves (whether it is truly threatening or not).

Mine sometimes teeth chatter when they expect a treat and don't get it.

What a cutie!
My first pig was always chattering her teeth. We referred to her as the grumpy princess because of it. They really do have all different sorts of personalities!
