What kind of dish do you have for him? Mine alays used to do that until I put the food dish on two bricks so it would be more difficult for them to get their little rears up into it.

Sounds like he is litter trained ;-). Sometimes the reason that poops get into the food bowl is because they get stuck to the piggies feet. When the pig steps onto the bowl to eat, they will fall in. Not sure why yours is peeing in the food bowl though!

Gideon does the same thing! It's so sick. I'm thinking about getting a litter pan, maybe that would help.:boggled:

Mine do it too  I got myself a new ceramic dish set, and it came with 8 of these teeny tiny little bowls--I don't know what the heck they are for--they are only like 1 1/2" tall and maybe 2-3" wide. Anything I want to eat, is gonna need more room than that lol So I brainstormed and thought hmmmm... I have 7 pigs and 8 bowls! I put 3 in the girls cage and 4 in the boys cage, and what I have found every day since then is every bowl gets peed in! I don't even know how they manage to perch their little hineys up on them to do it, but they do. I wonder if I am going to be amazed one day catching their rear ends perched up on them like a toilet, reading the comics.
I'm entertaining the idea of stuffing bedding in their bowls and tossing their food on the floor, and calling them litter trained. HA! (kidding)

Mine both pee and poo in their dishes also. I put the pellets in one of those hanging feed bins and somehow there is still poop in it. Very frustrating. I also have caught Gizmo in the litter pan with his butt hanging out the side peeing. It's quite comical.

but I haven't been able to find a litter box in a while (this happened a little while ago too, when I wanted to find a log house for Apollo - he ended up with a woven grass ball home instead)

What i've found is that those priority mail boxes from the post office make great litterboxes/hidey homes. Gary loves to race in and out of them and jump on top and play 'lookout.':silly:

We got this nontippable angled food dish with higher sides thinking they won't be able to get their little butts in there. Nope. They wiggle backward, line it up, and soak the pellets. Annoying little monsters. I just check the bowl frequently and don't feed them too much at once.

I'm sure all guinea pigs secretly want to be litter trained ;)

This isn't so much of a problem with Dante, he likes to pee on shavings and sleep on his towels, but Cupcake is... special. He'll pee and poop anywhere he pleases, especially his food dish, and then he'll burrow under his peed on towels and sit directly on the plastic part of his cage -_-

What a little goof ball.
lol My Moe is is the same way as your Cupcake. I just gave up trying to make her do otherwise.

I use these bird dishes. Sometimes there is poo in them but that is from what sticks to their feet from the litter pan. For the most part these dishes stay clean. they have to stand on their hind legs to get the food so they can't pee in it or poo in it.

Sometimes Furr pees in her food dish, but her poops are something that she flings through the grids at my chair.

I think mine fling their poos out of the cage because the dog likes them.

Our boys have never peed the food bowl, but I will find an occasional stray poop in it. Tossing poops to the dog- I loved that PM- our dog is very unhappy about being on a diet and lies in wait for stray poops!
