Not impressed with my order.

The other day, I ordered some supplies for my guinea pig and painted turtle off of Dr. Foster and Smith's website.

When the order came, the pigloo I ordered was painted/dyed very poorly (dark smudges everywhere), cracked down the length of one side, and nearly shattered near the bottom. And I have yet to receive my timothy hay, although the expected delivery was yesterday (and everything else came yesterday). It said it was in stock on the website.

Grr. I'm a little peeved... anyone else have bad experiences with them?

I would email them with a complaint. I can't say from experience because I have never ordered from them, but they may be willing to give you a refund or discount on the pigloo... I'm not sure about the hay, though

I order from them all the time. I have never received anything broken, and have always received it in good time. Definitely contact them.

I've ordered from them many times (about 8x) and have never had a problem. I've been VERY pleased with them and their sales on Oxbow are great. I just ordered from them Monday and received my order today already! I've called them once for an order issue which they took care of immediately and was not really a big deal at all but I just wanted them to be aware of it.

What pigloo did you order? I can't think of any that would be painted from there....
I only know of the plastic barn, wood one, and the wicker ones.

But please call them and I'm sure they will replace anything that is broken.
Then please update your post with your experience so people know how their customer service is.

I have order from fosters and smith and haven't had any issues, definitely e-mail them. Maybe they will refund you shipping back to them.

I've never ordered from them so I can't speak from experience but the problems may also have been in the shipper's hands. With temperature fluctuations, hard materials can crack and shippers aren't always the most careful with their packages.

Many suppliers even have a clause on their site that says they aren't responsible for damage to items in transit. Which is true - they have no control over what happens between the origin and destination. It couldn't hurt to contact them. Maybe they can complain to the shipper and have something done on that end.

I have ordered numerous times from them. There was one problem, I called them and they took care of it. I usually order enough stuff to get the free shipping...so i stock up.

I've ordered from them many times as well. No problems at all. Do let us know when you hear back from them!

I have also ordered from them in the past many times, with no problems at all, so don't debunk them as an unreliable source for products, and I would do what CavyMama suggested above in contacting them and I am sure that they will help you figure out what happened and who is responsible. I bet Drs.Foster&Smith would also reimburse you or offer a replacement if you tell them what happened. Taking pictures of the products damaged might be a good idea too.

I've ordered from them before too, with no problems. My hay finally came the other day but my mom still hasn't gotten around to taking care of the pigloo situation. It could be the weather that caused the plastic to break, the temp's been ranging between 29'F through +50'F the past few weeks. It's crazy.
