hi

i've just switched from the crappy pet store generic guinea pig feed mix to a lucerne based pellet - but it seems my guinea pigs dont eat it that much. they will eat anything else, fresh lucerne, carrot, capsicum, banana etc but judging by their bowl and the bitemarks all over the cardboard hidey house i gave them, they dont seem to be eating it all that much
im not sure how to get them to eat it? i dont want them to be hungry its just i cant feed them carrots etc 24/7 :/ i have grass in the backyard but its just been mown
any ideas?
many thanks

did you mix the 2 kinds together for a month ??

you should do it like this

1st week : 1/4 new pellets 3/4 old pellets

2nd week : half and half

3rd week : 3/4 new 1/4 old

4th week : fully on the new pellets

ahh that sounds like a really good idea - ill buy some of the old mix when i can & mix it through / in the meantime i'll have to try and get some grass and feed them some mixed veggies

thanks heaps

your very welcome :)
