I'm curious about what everyone calls their piggies aside from their actual names...not including when they are misbehaving and something like "you little @^*(%^!" gets said, LOL! lol

GP: "Geepers", "big girl" (as she is bigger than Fergs), "goofball", "mellow girl" and "G" (as in, "what up, G"?).
Ferguson: "Fergs", "Fergie" (or a combination thereof like "Fergiefergs"), "little girl", "squirmy", and "sweetie".
They both get called "Fuzzbutts" and "Little Poopers"!
The hubby can't be bothered to remember their names so to him they are "the big one" and "the little one". (He loves 'em anyhow!!) lol

I call mine that too. If I say it in the kitchen, they come over and bite at the grids knowing a treat is coming.

One of our piggies, Rosi, had a big, demanding personality. She was the boss of the house! We called her "Chief". I called both of mine (both popcorning on the Rainbow Bridge) "little squeakers".

technically, my girls' names (bella and cissy) are short for bellatrix and narcissa, so there's that. but i usually call bella "bellabella" and cissy some cutesy variation of her name.

other than that i usually call them "baby/babies" or some variation of piggapoos/piggiepigs/etc

this is such a cute thread! our little nicknames seem so strange when we try to explain them lol

My girls names are Betsie and Baylie and I have no clue why but sometimes I'll just add "bear" after their name, like "Betsie bear".

Only two of my five have nicknames. My in charge pig often gets called Big Boss Piggy because she has a habit of making everyone else do what she wants. My baby is named Persephone which I was going to shorten to Percy but I just got in the habit of calling her Baby. Oh, and I do call my pigs piggiepigpigs too:)

I call Gatsby: Goots, Gootsy, Gootsby, Gatz, Gootsbidoo

I call Oliver: Ollie, Olivoo, Olliepop

Whenever I feed them, I say a certain phrase like, "Gootsbidoo, Olivoo, I have some foodies for you!" and they go mad. I believe they recognize the variation of my voice when I say that because they start squeaking like crazy.

We have a handful of nicknames for all of the pigs:

  • Quee:
    • Big Pig (since she's by far the oldest and largest)
    • Old Grumpy Pig (she does not like being handled)

  • Kwee:
    • Little (she and Quee were our first two, so she used to be the smallest...she's second largest now :p)
    • Mouse (her face is noticeably more pointed compared to the rounder faces of the other pigs)

  • Curly:
    • Potato (when she huddles herself up, she gets very round and potato-shaped)
    • Teddy Bear (the texture of her fur makes it pretty self-explanatory; she's a teddy breed)

  • Cuddles:
    • Other Curly (we're fairly certain she and Curly are sisters; they have very similar faces and came from the same breeder at about the same time. Curly was originally claimed to be a texel when we adopted her, but she turned out to be a teddy. Cuddles is an actual texel, but otherwise could pass for Curly's identical twin)
    • Fluffbutt (her fur has two distinct textures; the white fur around her front legs to about halfway down her body is almost straight and somewhat thin; the ginger fur on her butt is very curly and thick, like an afro)

  • Kelly:
    • Piglet (she's by far the youngest and smallest of the herd)

When referring to both of my girls we call them "squineas." This is because when my sister was younger she thought "guinea pig" was pronounced "squinea pig."
Spice: Spicy, Spicy Wicy
Sugar: Sug, (Like Sugar w/o the ar) Sugie, Sugie Woogie
These nicknames are so hard to spell so that they look correct!:p

Jumble = Wheeter-Bix, Wheeters, Baby-Girl-Wheeter-Bix, Wheeter-Puppy, Barking-Wheeter, Vicious-Vicious-Wheeters. Jumble is actually short for "Joy Maria Burrito Lopez" (JMBL)

Picckalo = "Larger Pig, Because He's a Pig, and He's Larger" ("Larger" for short). Even though he's no longer even close to the larger of the pigs. Yes, we actually say the entire phrase.

Grace = Grace-the-Magical, also Bear, also Horta

Dr McCuy = Tribbles, Monkey Pig

Sun = Butter-Butt, Sunshine, Scaredy-Pig (Hhbean, it's funny you call Butters "Butter Butt." We got it from the nickname of a bird, the Yellow Rumped Warbler, and thought we were somehow unique!).

Cody = Potato Pig

We don't have real nicknames for the foster pigs, though we've taken to calling Hershey "Jocasta" because she keeps flirting (through the cage) with her male offspring. I think I'm going to call Possum "Needles" because she is very pointy and sharp.

I always refer to them together as piggies, boys, piglets, or sometimes even puppies (I have NO idea why--it just slips out).

Umlaut, I'll sometimes call Zoomlaut or Zoomie. He also gets called buddy a lot.

Ampersand always gets nicknames--Ampie, Ampers, Amster (the hamster), Scamper(sand), Amsterdam.

:)

So many great responses! :) I hadn't even thought about just plain old "piggies" or "girlies"...when they hear that nickname combined with me heading to the kitchen at breakfast and dinnertime, they go mental!! lol
