This will be my first time having two piggy's and I'll admit I'm a little nervous. I'm getting a female who was born on the 8th of march to become a friend (hopefully) with my 4 1/2 month old female. And I have a few question

Should I have 2 hide houses? The one I have now is quite large and could easily fit 2 full grown piggy's

Is a 2x3 going to be large enough for 2 piggy's? I'm planing on making a bigger one when they get a bit older. It's just going out and getting a larger table.

The guinea pig I'm getting is from the same person that i got my piggy I have right now from. She is a vet and takes very good care of her animals. Do i still need to quarantine the new one for 3 weeks? I would still like to quarantine her but only for a week or so if possible. But if 3 weeks is better I have no problem with that.

Would it be a smart idea if I got 2 of the same toys? Like if I got one something I'd get the other the same thing. or do they not really care about things like that.

I think thats everything. Thanks for you're replies.

Yes , get another hide house.
2x3 is okay. But I suggest a 2x4-2x5.
Quarantine it for 2-3 weeks.
You don't need to get two of the same toys.

A 2x3 is not okay. The minimum for two pigs is 2x4. Guinea Pig Cages, Your Cavy At Home

Quarantine is 3 weeks.

You should also have two of everything...water bottles, food bowls, hideys, toys, etc.

It can be nerve-wracking to be taking care of piggies for the first time without knowing much about them (I know...we've been there!).

Just read anything, and everything, you can on this website (and GuineaLynx) to learn as much as you possibly can about cavy care. We did that, and it has made such a huge difference in how healthy and happy our piggies are!

Whoa really? I was just thinking about toys. But even those need two of them?

Yes, two of everything. If one pig decideds to test his/her dominance it may prevent the other pig from good access to food bowls/water/hay etc.
