First off; the boys finally have names!!!! Meet Charlie and Oliver. lol Charlie is on the bottom (with the big white band) and of course the other is Oliver. LOL
I had been wanting to add a loft to their cage for quite awhile now, but frankly, I was a little nervous on getting it to look "just right" (I'm a bit of a perfectionist LOL). Their cage was in the dining room. Our living room, dining room and kitchen is one big great room, so there were still part of the family but not in the main hub of it. So, I decided I wanted to move their cage into the living room, directly under the window and right beside where I sit all the time (only spare space their cage would fit). I'm ashamed to admit that they are still pretty skittish of us and that's all my fault, I haven't spent enough time just messing with them, so I hope that having them moved where all the action is will help them get use to us PLUS I'm going to make more of an effort to handle them every day. They can be handled, but I hate terrorizing them by having to chase them all over their cage just to pick them up.
And now that I've made myself sound like a horrible Piggy owner, here's their new digs:
They have a 2nd story loft with one ramp. On the back right corner is their hay box, water bottle, food dish and their fruit and veggie bell. On the front left corner is a comfy bed with a fleece forest over the top of it. There's also a fleece forest "connecting" the two areas. They have another water bottle, a wooden tunnel and a pigloo (which also serves as a "base" for the ramp) on the bottom level. The ramp cover adds a 3rd hidey place for them. They have several chew toys thrown about too.
I also plan on making them a few fleece pom-pom balls and maybe some snuggle cups or sleeping bags or whatever I can think of with all of my scrap fleece.
.
Any other suggestions? On their cage and/or taming help?
Thanks!
