New member, all prepared with no cavies!

Hey everyone, It's awesome to see so many people excited about Guinea Pigs!
I have just created my own C&C cage. Still putting it together as I'm usin zip ties to give more stability and keep everything together. I still haven't found any cavies to adopt, working on that.

I'm hoping to get pictures of my cage up (can't find camera charger wire =/). Also when I get my little pigs I'd like to share them as well =)

So anyway, great to have a place to chat about something I'm so excited about!

We just adopted our two boys this week -- adoption is definitely the way to go. Good luck with finding some needy piggies nearby. Obviously, we're new piggie owners too -- this site has been so awesome for questions and ideas. BEST OF LUCK!!!

Sure will, I'm kinda bummed I can't find any homeless pigs close by, I'm still diligently looking. After reading some threads around I've realized the pet stores that I've been to that sell animals really aren't the greatest. The Petware House I went to just yesterday had 3 cavies in a 2'x2' plexiglass/wooden cage. No Hay in there, just two little igloos, and no food or water either! They told me they've had them since easter, I almost just wanted to get them all because they were in such a lousy set up.
I'd asked the girl about them and she didn't know anything about them except their age. It was just awful, I wouldn't ever shop there for anything.

I did find a wonderful pet supply store, they're willing to take my orders if they don't have somthing in stock that I'm looking for. The only animals they have in there are the Rescue cats, there were just 4 in there, and people are welcome to bring in their own pets while they shop.

Anyway, sry was so long, I just can't wait til I find my little piggies!

The two piggies I'll probably be getting are two that my friend wants to give away. If I wasn't going to take them, they'd be going to a shelter. So effectively, I'm adopting, and these two piggies are awesome.

The best piggies are adopted piggies.

I did try all those links with nothing closer than cincinnati ohio, which is about 115 miles away.

But, I've got GREAT NEWS! I went to walmart for some more cable ties, I went to the one I don't go to often. As I was coming back I found a small animal shelter, they had tons of rescued animals! They have 8 guinea pigs! 4 Males and 4 Females, so I'm adopting 2 of the Females, though I'd love to take them all home! =)

I'm still trying to finish my cage, I'm hoping to get them later today =)
