I have just registered to become a forum member. But this is the first and last time I will post here as I have found everyones views very one sided. I am all for getting pigs from rescure but have found this forum to be very preachy. Sorry, but, Goodbye.

um...ok but I don't think you should quit on cavy cages...its a very good place to post your questions...and if you dont like the way that people are one sided about certain things, then why don't you just avoid those convorsations?

I really hope you change your mind and stay!:)

People are just passionate about their piggies. It's nothing personal if someone tells you are doing something wrong and we are never too old to learn. Try not to get offended. It's all about the pigs here.

We here are very passionate about piggies. But why join when you just are going to leave? Not to be rude, just wondering.. It dosen't make any sense..

Wow, that was really smart.

Caveymum: Controversy and opinions shouldn't send you away. They are a way of sharing information, maybe your opinion will help someone else or maybe theirs will be a help to you. Or maybe there will be times why you have to "agree to disagree. or you can choose to be silent. "In addition, it's the american way... you know "freedom of ideas and freedom of speech"... many nations don't have that privilege.

Not a very welcoming way to get get me to stay. I suppose I just have different views that just will not fit in here thats all.

I assumed you said that would be the last time you posted.

Well, if you decide to stay, then you will learn a lot, but nobody is forcing you.

Did you not read before you joined, though? Everyone here is entitled to their opinion, but this IS a rescue-friendly, C&C cage loving, no outdoor piggy etc etc forum. It quite clearly states that. I agree with slap, if you hang around you will learn lots. I know I have, and my piggies are better off for it.

I'm sorry if you feel we are one sided. We have good reason to be.

This site is run by and several people on it are guinea pig/animal rescuers. We deal with the irresponsible results of breeding, petshops and neglectful owners all the time.

Our experiance has left us with a very unfavorable view of breeders and the pet industry. We do all we can to educate others about the problems that are out there as a way to end the cycle of abuse/neglect/overpopulation.

Yes, we are one sided. Yes, we can get "preachy". It is done out of love and concern for animals. We have a loving, caring and knowledgable group of people here. If you stick around you will learn alot and probably have some fun too. If there are "hot topics" that you are afraid you will get in a fight about then simply avoid them.

It's up to you to stay or go...you are welcome to stay.

In that case maybe I will stick around if you will have me. I think I will steer clear of certain subjects, but it is alway good to learn new things that help with the care of our beloved cavies.

That sounds good, glad to have you around. We have all types on this board. There are even breeders here. All I can say is that if you do not want to be involved in debates and heated subjects understand what we believe in and stay off the subjects of breeding, showing, buying animals from petshops/breeders, etc.

Of course "how to" discussions about breeding/showing are absolutly not allowed.

Welcome to the forum

If you steer clear of the vegitarian and kitchen forums you'll avoid 99% of the prechiness and debates. But maybe that's why I like those two ares so much :)

Welcome to cavycages.

Thank you, I have no problems with any prechiness and debates in the veggi section as I am one. Thank you for the welcome I hope that I learn new knowledge and can offer some to.

Well, since I didn't say it before, welcome to the forums! :)

I'm new 2! Hiya :)

Welcome Cavy Luvah. I'm sure you will enjoy the forum.

Just to update you on some rules we have I thought I would let you know that chat speak is not allowed on the forum. Please be sure to spell out all of the words you use instead of using chat abreviations.

For example

"how r u?" should be written on this forum as "how are you"

For more info on the posting rules you may want to read this post. https://guineapigcages.com/forum/announcement.php?f=27&announcementid=7
