okay...so i never raise guinea pig before......^_^ i've been rasing hamster.....but yeah i think they're cute but for some reason when i let lose to play around with me everybody though it's a mouse.....the guess got freak out....so my hamster just die and now im thinking about a guinea pig.....a few question becuase i never have one before...

what is hte average size of an adult guinea pig in inches..

do a ...guinea pig need a wheel like hamster do....

how big should hte cage be..... ^_^

how much does a guinea pig cost at pet store

how long will gunea pig live

do guinea pig eat what hamster eat...

will guinea pig bite....

can i give guinea bath...in wate.....I never get to give hamster a bath in water...becuase they will get sick. ^_^

and how can i tell if it a male or female....


please answer a few of my questions, thank you ^_^

oh and one more thing....can i play with it....like letting running around in my house or letting it lose outside...of course with my watch.....i'm just scare my neibor hood dog would eat it....almost all my neibor have a dog...and they let them outside....so yeah ^_^

A guinea pig cannot go on a hamster wheel or any other wheel as it is dangerous for them.
No they cannot eat hamster food

thanks KPIGGY ...i just read a thread from the other box about animal cruelty and i'm thinking of adopt one too.....but where do you think i can adopt one.... ....i don't know much where to adopt one....i love all of the little animal like guinea pig they're cute ^_^

Don't think so. Rescues don't ship their animals because it's not safe. You're better off finding one within driving distance.

NO, do not give a wheel to a guinea pig. It can break their backs as piggies backs are not designed to bend that way.

Don't buy at a pet store please, find a shelter/rescue and adopt.

Normally anywhere from 5-7 years, some pigs can live up to 10 years.

Absolutely not. Pigs should get guinea pig food, not hamter food. Pigs need plain high quality pellets, no mixes.

The majority of pigs don't bite. If they do bite, there is a reason and that reason can be resolved.

can i give guinea bath
Yes, but only occasionally and if they are really dirty. You also must use a safe shampoo especially formulated for small animals. Avoid any dog/cat shampoos with flea/tick medications in them and avoid all human shampoos. Their skin is very delicate and can dry out very easily.

Of course you can play with your pig but don't let it run loose outside even with supervision. You can build a run or playpen outside and let your pig play in it with supervision at all times. Inside you can let them run loose but please make sure that all unsafe areas are blocked off and make sure they have access to water and hay at all times.
