new here!!!! hello guys!!!! Need yer advice!!!

My name is Britney. I am new here. I am SO SOO excited that I got my piggies last week at PETsmart. So I got my piggers @ 34.99!!!, but I got the other one free, because I returned my rabbit that I didn't like (she wasn't cuddwy enough) Anyways, I brought them home and were told that I got two boys, ( I was going to name them Jaden, Kevin, LOL) but I think i got a boy and a girl (oh know!!)

Well, guess what.. Kfed just gave birth, and now I have 3 other piggers (kinda cool, if ya think about it cause the other 3 piggers were kinda like buy one get 3 free! )

So being the busy girl I am (I am going to comminity college) I decided that I couldn't handle 5 piggers, so I decided to go back to Petsmart, where the Manager Ron, was really nice and kind to take the babies back at no cost to me! He decided to give me a free ball for the guinea pigs to exercise in exchange for the piggers! What a deal!!1 I love the folks at Petsmart because a girl like me who doesn't have the time to take care of extra piggers, decided to help me out. Its kinda like foster care for us Guinea Pig lovers!!!

Well, I just dropped off the piggers last night at Petsmart, where they are caged all together!!! I think one of them is a boy and the others are girls, but oh well, I am sure they have it all figured out.

So on to the advice. What do I do for Vitamin C supplements? I don't have any thing for Vitamin C, but I figured that a water bottle filled with orange juice will do the trick. For some reason, they aren't drinking! Should I put water in there too?

I have decided to try and "unravel", so to speak, your post.

If you were to take the time to read through the stickies located at the top of each subforum you would know full well that we are an anti-petstore, pro-rescue forum. Petstores not only keep there animals in appauling conditions, but they also house both sexes together (resulting in pregnancies which adds to the overpopulation problem that we are trying to solve). As soon as a guinea pig is brought, they order some more "stock", which means that another sow is put through the pain of labor, most likely dieing in the process, the population increases and more pigs land at the already overcrowded rescues.

If you were to do your research you would also know that you could adopt guinea pigs for half that price, not only this but adopted guinea pigs are far healthier and are looking for a loving home.

This line says it all. I am appauled at your attitude. For crying out loud, the rabbit was probably sick (as most petstore animals are) and as far as I know they prefer not to be cuddled. So, let me ask you, are guinea pigs cuddly enough? Are you going to take your guinea pigs back to the petstore when the novelty wears off?

If you had of done your research you would know how to sex them for yourself, you would know that petstores are notorious for miss-sexing guinea pigs.

If you are soo busy perhaps you should surrender your pigs to a rescue. I cant believe this. Manager Ron is so good *says sarcastically*, Manager Ron just sold you an object which will most likely break your guinea pigs spine. A guinea pigs anatomy is not made to bend in the way that balls and wheels make them bend, therefore resulting in broken spines and death.

Its not foster care at all, it is a shocking way for Petsmart to earn money.

But thats the thing. Petsmart do NOT know how to sex animals. How old are the babies? If they are younger than 3 weeks then they should not be away from their Mum. They need the milk, did you know that?

I wonder why they are not drinking. Would you drink orange juice mixed with water over fresh water? I know I wouldnt.

Please people, if you think someone is a troll then please report the post. There is a little red and white triangular icon at the top right of the post with an exclaimation point in it. Click it and use the new page it opens to report the post to the moderators. Only one member reported the post but 2 decided to announce "troll".

Trolls and the like will be shut down quicker if you don't respond and add fuel to their fire and instead simply report the post
