new gp

I am so happy I got a new guinea pig today. I do not have a name for him yet, but he is small, black and white. Is 1 human year equal to like a gp year. Or how does that work. They said he was around 8 weeks old, and how do i tell how old they are?

ooo thanks i will just see what other people say about that. But also what about sneezing ok i never noticed it with bubbleguine but i have with the new one and the place said he was ok and gave me some meds to make sure.

Where did you get him? He may have a URI and getting him was not a really good choice. What meds are they?

I got him from petco cause my mom made me. And the meds they just came in a bag, but like the sneezing is like once in a really long time like not all the time. It is like we sneez like once in a day or something and he has only sneezed once so far.

What does the bag say? Do they have a name? What were the directions?

I am only asking you this in case they gave you baytril, in that case you need to go back to their vet and ask for bactrim. Baytril is bad for young pigs.

Like the direction say which i disagree with are to add half a tablet to 8 oz of water for 3 to 4 days.

It has and M with a line under it.

I would give it to him. I am assuming it is baytril, which is okay for just the few days.

Call them tomorrow and ask. If he gets worse make sure to go to the vet, and make Petco pay for it (call them first).

Like they gave it to us because beofre we took him home and qurintined(sp) him we wanted to make sure he was ok, so they put him in the back and watched him and gave him so of this medication.

So if he is around 8 weeks can i feed him cavy cusine or do i need cavy preformence?(sp) And i can i tell how old he is without talking him to the vet. Petco says around 8 weeks old but i was just wondering.

There really is no way to tell how old they are.

But can i feed bubble guinea cavy preformance too, or no since he is older than 1. I am guessing since he is like3 times the size of the new gp.

Mix it, 1/2 and 1/2- and mix the hay 1/2 alfalfa 1/2 timothy.
