this gives you an idea how long the cage is, it's amazing what you can do when you just re-arange the same pieces :)

this is the kitchen end of the cage

the is an inside view of the cage and summer being brave enough to come out for food!

The new cage is is about 2x5 the old cage was about 2.5x3 this gives them a lot more room to run :)

just wanted to add that i made this cage out of the pieces from 3 pet store cages that are far to small for any animal that they are sold for lol. so i tore them all apart and used them to make something better. The top of the cage opens at both ends and the blue piece in the middle stays in place. the only thing i'm not happy with yet is the kitchen area, i need a bigger box cuz i can already tell that the girls are gonna fight over that space. so will be looking for a bigger box when i'm at the groshrie store next.

Great use for old pet store cages! I'll have to pass that on.

We use the bottoms as litter pans at the rescue I volunteer at and they work great for the flemish giant rabbits.

Nice cage! The longer cage is better for them anyways. It is pretty amazing what re-arranging pieces can do! :D

Great idea! I don't know if you have a dog or cat, but if you don't you could use the top part of your cage and build on even more... :) (since you seem to like building, I do too.) I like the idea of the bottom of a store bought cage for a kitchen area. If it's too wide, then take your top, (again only if you don't have a dog or cat) and make a wider end of your cage for the kitchen area.

I plan on someday (when i get my own place) using my old pet store cage as a "dog resistant" litter box.

This is a fantastic use for old cages!

how do you mean to use it as a dog resistent litter box Rhinos_mom?........Thanks MochaAndMoo the lady bug fleece is actually an old baby blanket lol :) but i do like it!.........Shewolfsilver, that looks like a neat idea for your kitchen, wish it would fit like that in my cage. Can your guinea pigs get under that? if so does it make it hard to clean?
