Is it necessary to neuter male cavies? I have two young males and I was reading in my Guinea Pig guide that when they reach sexual maturity they give off an unpleasant odor. If I do have to neuter, is it a horrible ordeal for them?

better dun neuter them if u dun hav any female GP

surgery may hav some risk

Two males living together do NOT need to be neutered. They don't smell. Once in great while they might get excited but you'd have to be standing over them at the right time to smell it. It's NOT a big deal at all.

See this page: www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm. It has detailed info on this topic.
