I have a Ceramic Bowl (holds about 1 cup of pellets) that i serve the pellets in. My girls, especially Basil, just loves to get her front feet on the edge of the bowl and dump all the pellets out. This is a recent habit, and since it started I have been going through pellets like crazy. I need to find something else to put their pellets in that they can't knock over. Any suggestions?

You could take any kind of plastic bowl, drill 2 holes in it, and use a long twist-tie to fasten it to the wall of the cage. Then just loosen the tie whenever you want to remove the bowl for cleaning.

Or you could get a bigger bowl. I use a glass pyrex food bowl that came with a lid. It is a 2 cup container with a flat bottom and about 1 1/2 inch sides. I can use the lid as a plate for fresh veggies at snack time. The bowl sometimes tips up a little when they eat, but the food rarely ever spills.

My cavies enjoy standing on the sides of the bowl too, however we got them fairly heavy metal food bowls and they dont tip them over. But I do like the looks of the bowls that fit to the side of the cage and I might see about getting one or two of those and trying it out.

I use low, wide and heavy ceramic crocks. They don't tip when they put their lil' feet on them however, if anything goes in, it's their lil' poo's that get caught between their tiny toes.

I have a food despenser it works great! It has a large plastic knob that screws into the back that holds it to the side of the cage and you poor the pellets in the top. As she eats it automaticly refills itself. This is great not only because she cannot spill her bowl anymore because its attached to the cage but she has constant food and its easy to fill. You can get them at most pet stores or Dr Foster and Smith I think it was about $10

I have the same problem with Sandy...I will be getting a new cage soon....well, its a pet store cage and supposably it has a hole in it to hold the food dish so that way they can't tip it over.
