Hi all!
I have a 2x4 C&C cage , with a 2x2 upper level. But I dont know what to make the ramp out of. We tried some temporary ones to see how steep it was, and Im afraid that they would be too scared to go up or down. What did everyone use for their ramps? and how did you make it not too steep? Thanks for any anwsers.

I sed coroplast reinforced with some wood strips for mine..you can see it here

(broken link removed)

I made a ramp out of a 3' length of pvc pipe cut in half lengthwise. It's only 4" or so wide so there is still tons of room for running around in the cage and the girls can get up and down wonderfully. Even my big fat sow CoCo can make it up and down fine. Also I can take the pvc ramp and put it on top of a cardboard box hidey house with 3 doors cut into it and then the ramp doesn't take up any floor space.

If you already have the cubes and if there are extra pieces I would use a bent cube panel. Like in some tof the other replies. I went a little nuts with mine and did a slplit ramp with a landing and then closed in the open sides of the upper half. You can't see the bends so well but mine looks like this https://www.guineapigcages.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=611

For a flat surface I used strips of coroplast cut to the width of the bent cube panel. After this picture was taken I added a wide piece of grip tape (any home depot or lowes will have it) so that the piggies had some traction on the coroplast ramp.

For my ramp I just took a long enough piece of wood that was about the right width for my guinea and I chizelled out slots on it so they could get a good grip on it. it is modelled after a ramp that I got when i first bought a pet store cage.

The bottom ramp is one that I got from a pet store and the top one is the one that I made myself.
I also find that they love chewing on this wood so I made sure to use a type that was not harmful to them.

You can just use leftover coroplast for your ramp. With my ramp, the sides are also made out of coroplast and are taped in place with packing tape so they are at 90 degree angles. The ramp is 1 1/2 cube widths wide and 1 cube width high which is not too steep. You can tape shelf-liner to the ramp to make it non-slip.
