So I got a guinea pig 3 days ago she is eating fine but not drinking she has smelled the waterbottle container but just walks off. She used to drink out of a water bowl so mabey she just has To get used To it. Any suggestions

When I get new pigs, I always will tap the end when they come near it sometimes, this helps them to catch on. Fus and Ro Dah also were used to water bowels. I just put one in their cage until they caught on the how to work the water bottle, then I took it out because they stopped using it.

Thanks but i already tried to do that

Have you tried giving her a water bowl until she figures it out? She might be drinking when you're not seeing her do it too...

Are you going to be putting her with another guinea pig? Is she in quarantine right now? Once she's with other pigs she will copy what they do and start using it.

While I hate using bowls for guinea pigs (they tip them over, poop in them, scatter bedding in them, etc), you may want to let her drink out of a bowl until she's paired with another pig who can teach her.

I love bowls! I have two of these for my adolescent boys - Crème Brûlée Dish in Individual Bakeware | Crate and Barrel They are on fleece and I put them in corners, there has been no tipping and I just refresh it during my sweeping time. The water bottles are way less convenient for cleaning and refreshing, I always felt like I was wasting water, where these dishes hold the perfect amount. Also, NO wet fleece like with the dripping from the bottles.

Lol yes she is with my other female she copies everything else except for that Weird huh ?

Yes i put a water bowl in thier cage & you know I never thought of that ! Lol
