Sexing Need help determining sex of new pups.

I am trying to determine the sex of my four new pups. They are one week old today. I am not sure if it is too early to tell or not. I am thinking the one with the tan fur by her nose is female and the other ran and white one is male. The black/tan/white one is male and the other black/white one is female. What do you guys think?

1st pic female, 2nd pic male, 3rd pic female and 4 the pic male. That is what it looks like to me and you can sex pups the same day they are born.

I think they are harder to sex when they're young. You can check again when they're 3 weeks old, since you'd have to separate them at that time.

You can sometimes determine the sex the day they're born, and sometimes not. It gets easier as they get older. As lissie says, check them in another week or so and see if you're still of the same mind.

I think the first one might be male? The second one may be female? The last two I am very confident are female. At this age if you feel just above the genitals you will be able to feel the bone in the penis just under the skin if it is a male.

I agree with the people who are saying you are better off waiting a few weeks. I wait about 3 weeks, then it is much easier to be sure!

The acid test of a male is to be able to extrude a penis, or at least feel the penis bone.

[MENTION=39264]Wandabotha[/MENTION], the first one seems to be female. The last one is male. Gently press down above the white/tan guinea pig's genitals to see if you can feel anything or if a penis comes out. It looks like female to me because of the "Y" but I could be wrong. The 2nd pig is definitely a male though. His genitals resemble an "i".

I have to say, don't go by whether it looks like a Y or an i. Guinea pigs don't read that memo, and sometimes it's impossible to tell that way. The only way you can be sure is to feel for or (preferably) extrude the penis.
