Need Advice guinea losing hair

Well this is how it goes my guinepig has been losing fur for about 2 months I have been taking him to the vet wich cost us tons but okay for him. ut I was woundering because I was getting a new pig for him to play with should I keep them away from each other until they get better?

Did the vet treat your guinea pig for mites? That is one of the most common things that cause pigs to lose their hair.

If you get a new pig it MUST be kept in a separate cage in a separate room of the house for a minimum of 3 weeks then can be introduced to the other. If you have a male piggy, please adopt another male and if you have a female piggie please adopt another female.

It's a he? That pretty much rules out ovarian problems.

MITES. TREAT for MITES NOW! If your vet hasn't treated for mites, please find a new vet. After you rule mites out, then you need to look for other things.

Well my vets the best in the state and he treated him for mights

Did the vet only treat your piggie once with 1 shot? Mites have to be treated 3 times about 7-10 days apart.

He needs the shot until the mites are gone. It he treating with Ivermectin?
