Nails and Wood Safe?

I have been reading these boards for sometimes now. I really enjoy all of your creative ideas and construction. I would like to build my GP a small building. I would consider it a hutch or a cabin. Something small and constructed of wood.

I would not use glue or paint or laquer or anything like that. Simple wood and small finish nail construction.

My question is what would be safe?

Would my GP be safe with the nails?

I wouldn't use wood for their house. You will find that their urine will soak into the wood making it not possible to live in.

you could make it out of plastic, but what pennick said wood soaks up urine. And it smells after a while, which is an ewwy situation.
