my two boys are really shy. they get alot of floor time, they like my dog. everyone gets along. they are only a few months old. if I get an older male thats out going will he kinda bring them out of their shell. Ive had them for a long time and spend what time I can with them but I have to go to dog shows every other weekend. but on the weeks days we have fun. Will a another male help them?

NOt neccasarily, but it can't hurt. When you give them floor time give them alot of hidey spots and such. What do you mean by shy? Generally guinea pigs will run from you as that is pretty much there only source of defense from predators.

I'm not sure if you can expect them to be like cats or dogs. They instinctively run from people, they can't help it. Even my very laid-back boy will run from me when I try to pick him up and will try to wiggle his way off my lap.

Are they active during floor time or do they just hide? What exactly are they not doing that you expect them to do?

You can have new problems by adopting another piggy. Alot of people assume by adopting another piggy, that will solve their problems with their 2 other piggies. Alot of times you make new problems. If you have 2 that get along with each other you are taking a chance of adding a new piggy who may not get along, then what? What if the new one is shyer than the 2 you have? I am all for adopting piggies of course but I dont think you should in your case for your reasons.
