She was doing that. I got a picture of her on top but it wouldn’t upload. The piggies don’t mind her prescence and as long as she’s not able to get into the cage, I’m ok with her being near them. The cat also doesn’t use her claws so I’m not worried about the pigs being hurt. Hopefully it works wellLet us know how it works. I envision the cat lying on top and sticking its paws through the wire sides to bat at the guinea pigs. Cats love to do that sort of thing.
No, it’s not heavy. Also I couldn’t find anywhere to buy just a lid without buying another full cage.Isn't it annoying to have to move all of that to clean the cage? I like the lids that Cagetopia has - we did a C&C grid lid for a while, but turns out my cat has no interest in the pigs so they don't have lids anymore. She doesn't bother the ones on the floor at all.

What’s the waterproof layer made of?It looks like 3/8” plywood, about the thickness of bead board wall paneling. That’s not real heavy. If you trimmed the edges with a frame made of 1x2s or 1x3s that fit over the cage like a lid, you wouldn’t need any bricks to keep it down.
I used bead board for the floors on my cages, then trimmed it with a 1x2 frame that my grid cage sets in. I have a waterproof layer over the wood so it never gets wet, and the system works well and can be moved easily for cleaning.
