I'm so sad...I just discovered a lump on the throat of my 2 1/2 month old black Texel, Fat Albert! It literally appeared in 24 hours! From what I've read, it looks like we're going to the vet tomorrow. I hope it's just an abscess and he'll recover quickly. Luckily, I live in a city where there are many exotic vets so I have some to choose from.

These are my first little piggies and I've been crying for almost an hour over it. It's amazing how much I love this sweet little guy already. He might be the hardest pig to photograph...EVER.

Hes adorable!! I love his coat :) Please keep us posted on what the vet has to say and I will say a prayer for the little guy :)

He is gorgous and adorable!! It is a good thing you are having the lump checked out. Keep us posted on his condition.

Which vet are you taking him to? I'm in San Diego, too. Best of luck with your little guy!

SurfingPig, I left a message for Dr.Cote and will try to get in tomorrow. I also heard Kensington vet has an exotic and there's always Rancho Santa Fe. Who do you use?

Dr. Cote as well, he came recommended to me by a trusted person at the rescue. He is good with pigs and knows his stuff.

Oh good! I saw that he's recommended by Orange county cavy rescue and he was one of the people wee companions recommended to me too. I hope my little man will be ok.

He is very cute, and I really hope you can figure out what's up with the lump. Good luck!

Best of luck yo you and your pig! Hopw he recovers quickly

The first appointment Dr. Cote has is Friday morning...I hate to wait that long. Maybe I'll look into someone else I guess.

We found a lumop on our little guys neck on friday and his appointment is today (FINALLY!). He did fine waiting that long and it has grown. he now sounds horrible when he tries to squeak loudly so I am glad we don't have to wait any longer.

Oops. I merged these threads, thinking they were the same pig. I will try to get them back to the way they were!

Lots of prayers being sent for your piggy :)

I was wondering where my thread went lol

My little lump throated guy is responding to his antibiotics (SMZ-TMP), Hooray! We are culturing the puss to be sure, but so far the lump is shrinking :) At least this is good news since his brother passed away yesterday morning at 4am :( Crazy...who would have thought I would make my first 3 exotic vet visits all in one day (and for 2 entirely different things)?
