My piggy who is about 6 months old (I've had her for 2 months) seems obsessed with my hair!

if I lean into her cage and my hair is within reach she will run up...even stand on her hind legs to reach it and start chewing!! she seems to also want to do that when I am brushing her (is that like mutual grooming?) and also if I am holding her, she will try to climb on my shoulder so she can chew my hair.  I don't have a lot of product in my hair...hardly any... but she is actually chewing of chunks and eating them (if I don't grab them out of her moth first).

I am curious why she does that... but also worried... she seems to really like it, but it can't possibly be good for her??  (we are talking about small amounts of hair)... could this be because she is missing something in her diet?

She has plenty of food, hay, leafy greens, a few veggies and occasional fruit...even clover and dandelions from my lawn...

My piggie does the exact same! In general GP's are so very curious! If she does it again lightly just tap her nose and see if that helps her stop. It's not that she is hungry she is just a bit curious and still so very young! :) And speaking of young age try to put your hair in a bun so she wont be able to reach it because if she starts now she might get use to it.

Some piggies barber for some reason. I don't know if there even is a reason! Some chew their roomies hair and one poster on here has a Peruvian with flowing locks and her recent addition decided to chew it all off. I'm not sure why it happens and I have never actually witnessesd it so hopefully someone else will provide some answers soon!

thank you t both of you for the replies. it is indeed helpful to know that it's nothing serious, I will try to keep my hair out of her cage :)
