You may think I'm joking:eek:

But I am not.

I got him 3 days ago, only fed him carrot, apple, orange and green bell peppers.

He didn't eat anything in day 1, started to eat a little bit in day 2 whenever we are not looking.

And I was just sitting on my sofa and randomly playing Adele, and I first time heard him eating.

I ran into my room and he was chewing the green peppers. So adorable:eye-poppi

But he stops whenever the music haha

My pig is a music genius:heart::heart::heart:

Awww, how cute! My guinea pigs have different reactions to music too. I was holding Holly and watching tv, when a Justin beiber song came on. She stopped squeaking for a moment, then bit my finger. When I first got Harmony, I put classical music on loop whenever I wasn't home, because I read guinea pigs like classical music. She slept the whole day then.

Hi Nousername,

I have had so much great advice from the wonderful people on this forum so I wanted to give some back too. Ok so when I got my babies they did the same thing except probably eating less! They feel new and everything is unfamiliar too just imagine yourself in a strangers home for the first time, you'd eat a little but not stuff yourself then as you got use to the new people and surroundings you'd be more comfortable being yourself and eating till your tummies full. Don't forget they are frightened too, we as big humans can be intimidating and the sounds around the house like us shuffling our feet can scare them. It's possible that when the musics on it drowns out any sound of other movement that scares your little one.

Another thing I would try is a few sprigs of cilantro (coriander), try to keep carrot as a treat rather than an every day food. 1 leaf per pig of romaine lettuce is good and also the curly purple/dark red lettuce called endive is a good almost every day food too but only around 2 leafs per pig per day of this. Stay away from iceburg lettuce. Try to keep away from fruits apart from once a week and a very small amount but you can get more info on good menu's through other threads.

Why not take a long sprig of cilantro (coriander) as I said and hold it out, hand held steady and let your little one come to you and take pieces, if she or he doesn't want to come near you just very slowly move forward until the end of the sprig touches her lip, another trick I found is to rub the end leaf on the sprig so the smell gets stronger and entices them, then they learn that you, your hand, and food are all good!

Good luck and hope I helped!
God Bless!

https://www.guineapigcages.com/foru...y-nutrition-charts-poisonous-plants-list.html This is a chart to help set up a good, healthy menu for your piggie friend! Unfortunately, even though oranges are high in vitamin C, they are very sweet and acidic. I've heard of mouth sores developing in pigs given this treat. Ouch! :p

And who doesn't love Adele? It's no surprise she's a piggie favorite!

I hope you enjoy your new pig friend! I'm sure you'll find loads of helpful information here to ensure he's happy and healthy!

I agree with MissJean's post but just wanted to mention that the charts are currently being revised according to other posts so some things may not be correct. Try to check between the charts which are extremely helpful and also member posts :0) to cross check info :0)
