Oh. My. Goodness. If I can buy houses like those in TX for that cheap, I'm movin'! Where I'm from that price would get you a nice little cookie cutter sububian house.

Yeah, more and more people are moving to TX, especially Dallas. The recession hasn't hit here as hard as it has most places, and property is at a decent price, so people are coming in droves.

Of course, there are downsides .... TX weather sucks. We're right in the middle of both Tornado alley and the buckle of the bible belt. Plus, GW Bush lives here now. The whole state is ultra conservative. Most of the public schools in Dallas aren't great. Parkland (community hospital) drives up property tax (otherwise, property taxes are pretty low, considering). Not much to do here, unless you're really, really into shopping. Of course, if you're into all those things (including the 110+ temps we get in the summer) then you'd be happy, happy, happy here. (sidenote: I hate dallas. As soon as we can, we're moving the hell of out here.)

I hate Texas and swore that I would never live there . . . but if I could live in either one of those homes I'd move there in a heartbeat!

Isn't real estate weird? Here in Nebraska, contrary to popular belief we don't all live on farms, and drive tractors to work. lol But a house with a price like that is going to be a mansion, not a "cookie cutter" at all!

Those are really cool looking houses though Susan!

Wow, amazing homes! I love, love, love, the indoor (or at least covered?) pool in the second one. Both so unique and spectacular.

We were possibly going to move to Texas one time.
Houses there are a lot cheaper than here. My dad actually thought something was wrong with some of the houses at first.
I really like the 2nd house.

No kidding! CT real estate is insane. We've been sort of half considering buying a house and everything in our price range are either in towns that we don't want to live in for whatever reason or a tiny fixer-upper. You can't even touch a house in our neighborhood for under $500k, and that's a fixer!

Both of those are beautiful homes. I prefer the first one the most, the second has way too much church type glass for me. If you can understand what I mean by church glass. Stained Glass, that's it.

Hmm, the second one is HUGE! It does have alot of tile and stained glass. But beautiful all the same. I personally prefer the first one, but the second one is still amazing.
