Behavior my ewok sneezes

we got him in october and ever since he just sneezes alot.. his breathing and everything is ok. he just randomly sneezes.but its a continuous thing, my only guess is that hes allergic to something or himself.... i thought it may be like allergy to his bedding so we are pottytraining and doing the fleece lining on the cage now.. but hes still sneezing.

It's more likely an irritant (i.e., dusty bedding) than an allergy, although It may be possible that it is an allergy. Fleece is great - even if it doesn't solve the sneeing issue, I bet the little feller loves it! I think that URIs (upper-respiratory infections) are common to all rodents, including guinea pigs. Has he seen a good exotics vet yet? That would be a good idea, but be prepared to fork over $40-50 just for the exam (annoying, but necessary). Does he sneeze several times per minute? I hear my pigs sneeze maybe once a day if that, so more frequently is probably not normal. Good luck in solving this!

thanks so much for the answer. yes he saw a vet and doesnt have a uri.. we paid 45 for the visit. he sneezes like on and off its not all the time like per minute..just randomly. they arent wet sneezes.. i actually found the sneezing threads and was reading through those right now.. i just joke hes allergic to himself.. i dont know what else it could be.. his hay? i am using different kinds right now alfalfa and sweet timothy..

Hmmm...that's good the vet gave him the all clear! People always say to have a grass hay available at all times (like Timothy or Orchard). Pigs under 6 months can have alfalfa hay, but they need grass hay too. It helps wear down their continually growing teeth. You may already know that, but I'm just making sure that you do. I only found that out a few days ago. Well I'm at a loss about the sneezing. Hopefully somebody else will assist...

well i dont know how old he is exactly but we've had him for about five months and he was small when we got him so a bit young im sure.. hes gown since hes been here. he loves all his hay. i have a hay feeder for him so to contain it some..thanks so much
