Our dog most likely has fleas (he's going to the vet tomorrow for confirmation and treatment), so do my guinea pigs also have them? If so, what should they be treated with?

They may or may not have them. If they do, you'll see them scratching. And you can see the flea dirt (or poop, which is what it really is, along with a bit of blood) in their fur. Well, unless your pigs are black or dark brown -- then all bets are off. It will look like tiny dark flecks, and feel a little bit gritty.

You can treat with Revolution or the original Advantage. I assume ivermectin would work as well, since Revolution is an ivermectin analogue. See www.guinealynx.info/parasites.html for more info on how to treat them and what to give.

Yes, don't treat them unless you actually think they have them. I had a flea infestation lately, and the pigs were not affected at all.
