Yes...my Basil and Gizmo are back together, after being divided for a few months. I introduced a third piggy after having them for 8 months (litter mates) and it went horribly wrong, and they began to fight. Eventually I had to re-home my third piggy but my two boys could not be together as Basil kept attacking Gizmo. Well two days ago while cleaning the cage, my boyfriend tried them together during floor time. Things were not as bad. Teeth chattering and chasing but no biting. So, we have taken the divide away. I have found two tufts of Gizmo's fur on two occasions. However, there are no bite marks as far as I can see.

Is fur pulling normal behaviour? Gizmo is acting very submissive. He keeps lying down and running away. He never chases Basil. Basil has humped Gizmo a couple of times and Gizmo just sits there. Here's hoping that i don't find any blood. I can't tell you how much of a relief it is to have the thought that they may actually be together again.

Thank you. I think I spoke too soon. I went to check on them earlier and Basil has a little bite on his nose. This is very unusual as Gizmo never attacks. I am hoping that Gizmo has taught him a lesson and told him that he wont stand for it anymore. However, I will have to keep a close eye on them.

Please keep us updated - I know my Martha lets Freddy play dominant male, but she won't put up with too much and will nip at him to remind him of his limits. So far, I've seen no bite marks on either, and they seem quite content the majority of the time. I hope yours get to stay together!

Fur pulling happens when guinea pigs get stressed out or if their in compact areas. I'm guessing the "kids" just need some time to get use to eachother. Good luck!

Fur pulling, as long as it's not obsessive and pulling skin off, is fine. Good luck!

My Teddy is a hair puller, She does it when one of the other pigs is to pesty, or too close, or tries to take her stuff.

Hi there, thanks for your replies. I haven't found anything else so far. They have a huge c&c cage so they have plenty of space, especially now it is not divided. They are still touchy with each other and Gizmo tends to keep out of Basil's way. I hope things calm down between them.
