well, yesterday i went to the local spca, and came back with fudge :) you can see him at (broken link removed) under the album 'muffin and fudge. about to walk my bro's dog so ill post pics later!

anyway, the pigs seem ok so far!

i couldnt stop watching them last night, their behaviour had me hooked!

fudge has a new nickname - fudge the fearless. he is also the most talkative pig ive ever seen! he kept going up to the partition and just talking and talking, even though muffin was inside his pigloo. he was like the annoying neighbour that doesnt shut up lol. (before anyway jumps on me about qaurentine, the vet checked both pigs before i left and they are very healthy)

when muffin finally came out to get some hay, fudge got so excited started talking even more. muffin just sat looking at him and eating lol.

about an hour later, muffin started to tak an interest, and they started sniffing each other through the partition. Fudge kept rumblestrutting, which has to be the funniest thing ive ever seen. i think my laughter put them off though lol.

and the best part? Muffin and Fudge were popcorning maniacs. Ive never seen a real popcorn before, but now i have im very happy - means the pigs are happy too which is great. Im very pleased that muffin was doing it, as he hasnt jumped once the whole time ive had him(3 weeks lol) :)

also, fudge is a fatty. all he does is eat and talk lol. I think fudge is older as he is slightly bigger, muffin looks teeny next to him!

so there you go, the first night for muffin and fudge!

did you quarintine them? or did they come together?

I would still quarantine them for about a week if I were you. Many illnesses can be stress-related and take some time to reveal themselves. Remember, cavies are experts at hiding illnesses, even from vets.

Oh, yes, and congratulations, they're real cute!

no they didnt come together, and no i didnt qaurantine them. the vet and the guinea pig worker at the spca said that i wouldnt need to. ive also been told by other sites not too.

lol i feel like i have to justify whether im looking after them or not :)

saying that, i will keep a very close eye on them both in case anything does happen, thanks for your concern though, its appreciated!

The thing is, my first pigs came to me absolutely healthy with a clean bill of health. But then, after two weeks, they developed mites. My family ended up paying about 250 dollars on my two 'perfectly healthy' pigs because mites come out when a guinea pig is stressed. That can often times be when they are moved about or put into a new cage. Wouldn't you rather keep them seperate for a week or two than take that risk?

yes your right :)

will put muffin back in his old hutch for a while, good thing i havent sold it yet :)

i think its easier to take advice from people when they are friendly like you dolittle! and hey, the dr dolittle film is on tonight here in the Uk! \o/

cheers,

x

They're both adorable! Guinea pigs are so much fun to watch :)

Yes, thanks for taking the advice! I'm sure they'll be overjoyed when you put them together! Good luck!
