Okay so hears the thing, I've been looking for a place to move, there was only one catch and that's that my four boys go with me. Well, I'm happy to report, I've talked to my cousin, and he's offering me (and the boys) a room. Not only will it be cheaper, but I'll have room to expand the boys cage. (can anybody say piggie crazy?) So as far as that goes I'm straight, but they do have a beagle pup. I know putting a lid on the cage is a must, but what about leaving them on the floor or moving them up onto a stand? We have a dog, but she actually loves the piggies. There's also going to be a ten year old there, and three other adults, so I need to be sure I take the safety measures there too. I'm intending on hanging a "can have" list above the cage. Any more suggestions on how to settle them in?

Hmmm. A table or stand would be a must. If you make a grid stand, you can store piggy stuff there to save tons of space. Mine is under my loft bed with a grid stand, I don't lose any floor space at all! A top can be made of wire shelving from Home Depot, Lowes, or any other large hardware store...

My cage rests on a folding banquet table. There are up of the ground so my little dogs and my black lab which is quite big cant see them and I can easily get to them. I store all the stuff underneath in drawer organizers underneath

Beagles are hunting dogs originally... I have not met one that didn't have a strong instinct to chase birds and other such small animals. I would recommend raising the cage and having high enough coroplast walls that the dog can't see the pigs... Of course this is only my opinion formed from my own personal experience with that breed. I have spaniel/poodle crosses now and one is obsessed with the pigs... But only when she can see them... So as long as she is under her blankie I can have the piggies on my lap and she doesn't care... Of course I always close the pigs door when I'm not at home! :D

:) awesome advice, I'm sure they'll be on a table! I'm thinking unless my aunt wants one or two in the living room they'll be in my room. (I have my big boys separated, and the lil boys together)
