My piggie aways make this one sound like a teeth chattering but i know its not teeth chattering but i can really explain it .It's kinda like a motor and teeth chatter and a cooing put togetther. It might for domance because i did not really know what quarintine was before i got then and so i just ploped in the cage togetther but they do everything together so i not that scared that something bad might happened, but i was just if a fight could break lose?

They make this sound when they are annoyed. I am writing this at 3:30 AM because one of my pigs is in heat and is making that sound so loud, I can't sleep.

They do it if you pet their hair in the wrong direction, mine do it if the phone rings, and they do it to each other. It's normal.

Thanks and sorry about your lack of sleep:)

Cujo also makes this purring sound when he's being lovey - when you pet and rub him and he's really happy. Piggies can be confusing because the sounds that they make can mean more than one thing. The longer you have them and the better you get to know them the easier it is to figure out what they mean.

The motor sound is annoyance. Usually means stop what you are doing its annoying me or get out of my way.

Does this sound also sound like a woodpecker going after a tree while humming? Isaiah hasn't done that at all but the new little guy, Einstein, will do it when my husband is holding/petting him. I wonder if he just isn't used to being held at all yet and needs some work on it or if we should just leave him alone. He is still kinda young looking (about half to 2/3rds the size of Isaiah.

The motor sound to me sounds just like what its called....a motor. A vibration. A woodpecker going after a tree while humming........I'm laughing at that one, thats some description. Either way, I would not stop holding and petting your piggy. Its the only way to bond. You can give him a small treat sometimes also. How is your husband holding him? In the beginning keeping him on your lap he will feel more secure. My piggy chirp when they are being petted. could it be this sound you are hearing. Like a chirping sound or a nonsense talking giberish sound?

All I know is that when Cujo makes that sound he is usually very, very happy!

My piggie made that noise once when I rubbed their hair the wrong way.

my pig makes that sound when im not ever near him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
