My boyfriends sister took in 3 dwarf hamsters about two months ago. They were supposed to be 3 boys, but the original owners goofed up & it turned out to be 2 boys & a girl. So of course, a few weeks later a litter arrived.
I'm not really sure what happened after that (I don't get to see her that often as she lives in the Netherlands) but I know they ended up giving the two boys to a pet store. Unfortunately, another litter came four weeks ago & another one week ago. So I don't really know when the two boys were given away. But clearly, not too long ago! The whole ordeal was too much for my boyfriends sister & she's giving all of them to the pet store.
I wish I could take them all, as I don't really feel a pet store is a great way to resolve the problem. But at least my boyfriend is taking one. So meet "my" new hamster, Tweaker.
I'm giving my boyfriend all my hamster supplies (habitrail cage, loads of tubes) & I hope I can convince him to attach another habitrail cage (the spacestation) to double the amount of space she has.
I have to say, she's absolutely adorable! She's so tiny, & after some time handling her the guinea pigs just seem huge. And she's so gentle! She started licking the salt off my hand after those pictures were made (I had sweaty hands).
