I thought I would introduce you to Poppy. As I said in my introduction I got him from my daughter as she couldn't keep him because of her 4 yr old.
He came to me in this tiny cage that wasn't too clean.
My husband was not too keen on him but there is a good outcome to that!
After exhaustive research I made him a run out of two old bird cages, giving him 24 sq feet of room. Bought loads, way too much, vegies, hay.
Made him little hiding places and got some tubes for him to run through.
After about 1 week he started coming out of his shell and has turned into a lovable, sweet critter. He gets lap time and free range time every day and popcorns like crazy!
And back to my husband...The other night, during lap time, Poppy crawled into Don's lap and onto his shoulder. I peeked and low and behold Don was smitten!!!
My next order of business is to get him a buddy. Which might prove difficult. The nearest rescue is down in Sarasota, 100 MI from me. To add to the problem one of our grand children lives w/ us which disqualifies me.
Anywho, here he is!!!
I plan on taking more shots of him and will add them to this thread.
Thanks!
