medications..please answer ASAP!!

Hi, Has anyone ever given a piggie tetractcycline for a piggie cold and is it safe??? Please answer ASAP!! Thanks

NO! Do not give tretracycline. Are you self-diagnosing or is this a vet prescription. DO NOT SELF-DIAGNOSE antibiotics. Get your pig to a vet immediately if it has symptoms of an Upper Respiratory Infection

I received this medication from a vet. I took my piggie in yesterday and the vet gave me tetracycline and told me to give it to him 3 times a day. I was just wondering if anyone had ever been given tetracycline for their piggie to treat a cold.

Did you read my post? Do <strong>NOT</strong> give your guinea pig that medication. Find another vet immediately. URIs (colds) can be quickly fatal with a guinea pig.

OK!!!! i read your post!! i was letting you know that I got this medication from my vet!! I am not treating this by myself..I'm a new piggie owner so it's going to take time for me to know the good and bad..No need for an attitude. Thank You!! i will find another site for my questions...
