ok, so im trying to make some hidey houses for my girls out of coroplast. what can i use to bind? is hot glue ok?

i wouldnt use hot glue because the piggies may end up eating it and thats not good.

I'd just get some store bought ones, like those plastic stools.

but what if the hot glue isnt in reach at all? piglet, i could get a stool, but i thought it would be really cute to make my own and then decorate it, like lipglossartist has done. those are so cute!

If you need to use glue, then I believe the safest would be one of those nontoxic school glues. It's a cute idea, just make sure that everything is safe, including the paint if you want to use some!

Im not useing paint, just washable markers, the kind that school children use, its suppoed to be safe if they eat a little bit because the color is made with food coloring. something like that.

ok, what about Elmers School Safe Hot Glue Gun?

Ok, that may work if you're sure it's nontoxic.

yea, thats what it says. Ill be really careful no glue is exposed too.

Ok, sounds like a plan.

All right, this is the house i am trying to make (all her other ones are way too complicated) and i am only going to be making it a one level. how big should the main house be, that square part? what dimensions would you reccomend? I want two pigs to be able to fit.

Oh yeh, I remember hers! They were adorable. Can't wait to see them finished

Oh, I looove those houses! I made a coroplast hidey house, pic is here: https://www.guineapigcages.com/gallery/898/

Nothing so creative as hers, but it works. I think that is about 22" x 14", not exactly sure. It can fit probably four pigs, and has two entrances. The minimum for two pigs is most likely 12" x 14" or something, that's what I'd guess.

is a 6" height high enough?

Yes, I think that should be fine, loves2travel.

so far, the dimension i have are 6" height, and a 9" by 12" base. I dont have enough coorplast to make it bigger. I havnt yet figured out the garage part of it.

Ok, sounds good! Keep us up on how it's going, l2t! By the way, is it ok if I call you that? I know I've been, for lack of a better name. Sorry if you don't like it. What do you want me to call you for short, or is that ok?

Thats fine if you wanna call me l2t, or you can call me by the nickname all my friends use, which is Ara.

Ok, just making sure! Ara is pretty. Is that part of your real name?

Yea, it is part of my real name. If any of you use my email, youll see that it says Sheila, but thats not my real name. I just used it because it was free yahoo account and i didnt want to give out any personal info.

Ok, i dont have enough coroplast left over to make the house as big as i want it to be, so i think I am going to use carboard for the roof. Do you think is ok?
