OK so I finally got my c and c cage up for my boys! This was WAAAAAY cheaper than any store bought cage I've found. I made it 2x5 with a kitchen area that's 1x2.

33 grids - $20
4 packs of 60 zip ties - $4
Coroplast - FREE
Pack of binder clips - $3
Pack of cloths pins - $1

The fabric in it is fleece I had for making piggy stuff, but I basically paid about 7 dollars for 8 yards because I got fleece blankets for 5 bucks and some large spare pieces from Walmart at a discount! I got the dish pan for the kitchen for 2 dilates but I could have gotten it for a dollar from the Dollar Tree. I made the cozies and tunnel and hay bag. The baskets I got for $0.50 from the thrift store for hidies. The coroplast I got from sign shops. They have me the stuff they were just going to throw away. I used an old cotton heated blanket (that didn't work) to line the cage for now until next week when I get a Uhaul blanket. I still have to read the threads that have instructions on how to make liners but I'll be doing that when I get the Uhaul blanket.

I put a grid underneath the upper kitchen and in turn created a little room.

I'm so proud of myself! I was hard...probably because of me and me doing something wrong along the way. Lol.

I added some photos with different angles! Please let me know what you guys think! Should anything be changed?

FEEDBACK SO SO SO WELCOME, lol.

I've just realized upon posting that I did the coroplast wrong...that's why it was so hard! I zip tied the coro to the grids!

I'll have to watch an instructional video on how to put the coroplast base together when I but some. While I can get scraps for free...I would much rather spend the 20 bucks and get a huge piece to do it right.

Also... I'm not done with the cage. I have to make the ramp better and figure out a way to get the fleece to look neater.

Any tips?

Oh and the boys love LOVE it! Rockii was a little leary of the ramp at first but then quickly got used to it and ask three [Rockii, Winston and Apollo] were popcorning and doing zoomies laps around and around. It's was hilarious to watch. They were going so fast they would knock into the wall or each other. Lol.

Hi! Looks good! I would sew the fleece blankets together to avoid having clothes pegs on the floor of the cage for them to possibly trip over or chew on. It will lie smoothly, the pigs won't be able to burrow, and you can tuck the edges over the coroplast and clip them.

Cute pigs too!

Looks great. When you get the uhaul pads, just sew the size of the cage so they lay flat. The pads and fleece need to be washed and dried so they can shrink some first or you can make them 2-3 inches bigger on all sides for shrinking. I would put the hay bag over the little box though.

Oh thank you, janinehunt and lunarminx! I'm going to sew the fleece today and then just sew the fleece to the Uhaul pads next week!

How do you guys define the corners with the fleece though?

Oh and also, there is about a half inch gap between the grid and ramp. What can I do to make it safe for little piggy legs? I currently have clipped the the fleece on it over and it works but it's not neat looking.

You could redo the ramp or just have a piece of fleece like you are doing going over it.

If you have left over grids you can bend two grids into a U shape and then put the coroplast on top of the ramp for a floor.

Oh I'm going to do that! I'll have more grids Monday and that's what I'll do! Thanks!
