Mad Guinea Pig?

I just got my guinea pig not too long ago. When I brought him home he was very lovable and liked to be helt. Recently I've started a new job and haven't been able to hold him as much as I would like to. And now everytime I hold him he bites me. Is my piggie just mad at me?

Your pig probably just isn't socialized with you enough. Guineas pigs do get mean and wild if they are not handled enough. You really need to take the time every day to hold and handle your pig.

Does she move around alot like she wants to get down real bad? because if so, I used to have a guinea pig like that.
Me and my siblings tried handling her alot but I think it really matters on how old s/he is because if it's an older one it probably had a time when you needed to play with it alot which would have made it comfortable with humans.

A guinea pig who starts to bite could be scared (less handling makes them more nervous about being handled) but it could also be an indication of something like mites. Any condition which makes the guinea pig's skin sore means that being handled is painful so they'll let you know in the only they ways they can - by squeaking or biting.
