Basicly we cant get grids in sweden anywhere to build a C&C cage so we are considering a large bookcase cage. I was looking for any advice people have on things like how to attach a water bottle to the side of the cage without any metal grids to hook onto? How to increase airflow through the cage so it doesnt build up nasty smells are effect the piggies sence of smell? And any other tips people might have for solid (non metal grid mesh) cages?

There are lots of photos in the gallery of alternative cages, I think the problem with bookshelf cages is they are not nearly deep enough. It would make more sense to use low bookcases for the stand and build the base out of wood. Also you can probably get wire closet shelves in Sweden which make for very nice cages:

I think plexi walls makes for the most beautiful of cages. Cages like these:

I think this last cage is one of the moderators (Lissie?)

those cages all look great. The trouble is time isnt on my side.. i need to get them into a larger cage as soon as possible so i dont really have time to put alot of effort into building one yet.. just need something fast with alot more room for the little guys.

But my question still stands.. how do you fix a waterbottle to a cage with no wire to clip it to? we have this style bottle http://thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mLlcDFmF4tzAopZlCoXyVVg.jpg

You can use a water bottle stand, or drill holes in the bookcase.

The worlds largest pet store cage is available here, it's about the size of a 2x5 C&C cage.
Though for that price you could get a C&C from the store AND pay the custom duties, I did.
