Hello,

I have room for either a 2x4 or a 3x3 c and c cage. Which is better- wider or longer?

I want the best for two pigs!

If it's for 2 males I would do the 3x3. If it's females I think either one is fine.
I think a 2x4 is easier to clean if that helps.

2 x 4 is easier to move around for cleaning and catching the pigs without having to step into it.

Okay thank you! That helps a lot! I believe there would be females, but by the time I get some pigs- eh, who knows?

I've had a 2x4, 2x5 and 2x6 and if I get the chance, I definitely would go for a 3 grid width cage. I like to make sure all my animals have double the room of comfort.

No, I wasn't saying it had to be. Just saying based off the sizes I've experienced with, I'd like to go wider.

I went ahead and did some math. A 2x4 would give you 2 more square feet than a 3x3. So if I had the choice between those 2 sizes, I'd go for the 2x4.
A 3x3 gives you approx 8 square feet and a 2x4 gives you approx 10 square feet.

Actually, a 3x3 provides more space.

Calculating from the inside tray:
A 3x3 is 41x41 inches = 1,681 sq.inches (11.67 sq.ft)
A 2x4 is 27x56 inches = 1,512 sq.inches (10.5 sq.ft)

Okay and cleaning wise I wouldn't be able to step in it as it would be on a stand. So is it still okay to clean?
